What We Believe

Statement of Belief

We believe that there is only one God and Father of us all.

And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: (Mark 12:29)

We believe that the bible is the divinely inspired, written word of God.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: (2 Timothy 3:16)

We believe that Jesus Christ is God’s only begotten son, and that He died for the sins of mankind and rose again on the third day.

For God so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten  Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

We believe in baptism in water (complete submersion) in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, which is the name of Jesus.

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations,  baptizing  them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: (Matthew 28:19))

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one  of  you in the  name  of  Jesus  Christ for the remission  of  sins, and ye shall receive the gift  of  the Holy Ghost. (Acts 2:38)

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)

Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. (Acts 19:4-5)

We believe that God’s presence, the comforter (Holy Spirit), Jesus asked the Father to send to us, dwells inside the Believer.

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send  in  my  name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (John 14:26)

We believe that if you confess with your mouth your sins before the LORD and believe with your heart that Christ is His son and that He died for your sins, God will forgive you.

The Lord  is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a  contrite  spirit. (Psalm 34:18)

That if thou shalt  confess  with  thy  mouth  the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (Romans 10:9)

We believe that disciples of Christ must endeavor to live a life which reflect the God within us, who is holy and righteous.

I  beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that  ye  present your bodies a living sacrifice,  holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. (Romans 12:1)

We believe that faith must be accompanied by work—sharing and living the gospel of Christ.

For as the body  without  the spirit is dead, so  faith without  works is dead also. (James 2:26)

Remembering  without  ceasing your  work  of  faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father; (1 Thessalonians 1:3)

We believe that there is only one body of Christ and that when He returns, He will come back for that body, so Believers must work to become one in Him as He and His Father are one.

And now I am no more in the world, but these  are  in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be  one, as we  are. (John 17:11)

 Romans 12:5

So we, being many, are  one  body  in Christ, and every one members one of another. (Romans 12:5)

 Ephesians 4:4

There  is  one  body,  and  one  Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;   (Ephesians 4:4)
